Several years ago, I worked at a place where I supervised several people. There were probably 6 of them and all were women. As Christmas time drew near, I wanted to give each of them a gift but I didn’t have a good idea of what too get. I asked my wife if she would get something for them. She said yes and asked what I would like to give them. I said I didn’t know but I would like it to be nice. This was all of the guidance I gave her.
She went Christmas shopping a few days later and shopped for them. When I got home she had already wrapped the presents. The gifts were in little bags. When I asked her what she had gotten them, she told me she had purchased Isotoner gloves. I thought that was a good idea. She had also made strawberry jam earlier that year and had a jar for each of them. I was happy with her gift ideas.
Everyone in our department was going to be at work on the last day of work before Christmas Eve so we had planned to do gift exchange in our department then. There was lots of food at work that day and we planned to eat together and then open gifts. I opened my gift from the women first. Then the women all opened their gift bags at the same time. When they opened the packages, each of them pulled out a pair of panties. My first thought was “how did those panties get in there with the Isotoner gloves?” Then I realized that I had been set up. My wife had called the ladies before she went shopping and told them her idea. She got each one of them a nice pair of panties, the sexy but not slutty kind. The women made over them with comments like “Oooh! Art! Thanks so much! These are really nice!” They said something about trying them on and also threatened to hang them in the window of our office like Christmas stockings.
I have learned my lesson. From now on, I try to give my wife more direction when she is buying Christmas gifts for me to give.
